Trend Viewer

Overview:

The Trend Viewer in Busroot is a powerful analytics dashboard that enables users to visualise and compare key production and efficiency parameters over time. Designed for production managers, engineers, and continuous improvement teams, it delivers deeper insights by visualising trends across shifts, products, machines, and energy consumption. The main value is helping users uncover performance patterns, root causes of losses, and opportunities for sustained gains.

Use Cases:

  • Production Manager: Tracks daily, weekly, or shift-by-shift output trends to spot long-term improvements or recurring problems.

  • Sustainability Lead: Analyses correlations between energy use and productivity over selectable periods to drive greener operations.

  • Process Engineer: Compares machine or line performance before and after changes to quantify impact and guide best practices.

Functionality:

  • Metric Selector: Choose key variables (output, cycle time, energy, downtime, OEE, and more) to plot trend lines for cross-comparison.

  • Time Range Controls: Select and filter into specific timeframes - shifts, days, weeks, or custom periods for granular analysis.

  • Breakdown and Filters: Filter by line, SKU, shift, work order, and more; layer multiple series for side-by-side comparison.

  • Chart View: Graphs visualising the data; highlight intervals of underperformance or spikes for root cause investigation.

  • Short Interval Control: Review production in small time windows (e.g., 15-min blocks) for rapid intervention and detailed breakdown.

  • Limits/Prerequisites: Accurate trends depend on complete, correctly timestamped data across devices and processes.

Data Setup:

  • Validate time stamping and completeness of device data for each KPI (cycle time, downtime, output, etc.).

  • Devices and production lines should be accurately mapped to their data source.

Key Formulas:

  • Time-series data is plotted, often using moving averages or interval groupings.
