Tools¶
Tools are the places in Busroot where you see metrics or act on them. Most tools serve several capabilities, and each tool page links to the metrics it shows. Tools are in three groups.
Connect¶
Connect the shop floor: the hardware, network and device messages that get machine signals into Busroot, and the screens people use at the station. See Connect.
-
Plan a site installation, with power, mounting, tools and the order of work.
-
Micro PLCs and sensors that connect any machine, old or new, with or without its own PLC.
-
Single-phase and three-phase meters that measure the energy each machine uses.
-
Connect devices over your site's Wi-Fi, or over a dedicated wireless network with 4G gateway routers.
-
Any device with a modern web browser, running the Operator Interface or a shop floor display.
-
The station signals that machine connectors and other devices send to Busroot, and how to send them.
-
Named time ranges, such as today or the last 72 hours, used to select data.
Control¶
Run the shift: the live screens that supervisors and operators use to see what is happening now, respond to stops and run the schedule. See Control.
-
The live dashboard. Shows each station's status, schedule progress, the last hour's production and OEE, and station notes.
-
A large-screen board showing each running schedule's quantity against target and its estimated finish time.
-
The operator's screen at the station, in any modern web browser. Used to give downtime reasons, start schedules, count and correct production, and complete Tasks.
-
Emails when a station stops, operator escalations, and a daily downtime summary at 07:00.
-
Create, upload, order and prioritise production and non-production schedules.
-
A forward-looking view of how much shift time has been scheduled.
Optimise¶
Find the pattern: the charts, tables and reports that show performance over time, so you can find the causes of lost time, output, quality and energy. See Optimise.
-
A coloured block for each time window and station, for spotting patterns within a shift.
-
Plots any of 15 metrics over time for up to 5 stations.
-
One table of time, production, stop and energy figures, rolled up from station to plant.
-
OEE split into availability, performance and quality, with the time lost at each step.
-
Production against target by the hour or half hour, for short interval control.
-
Every stoppage with its reason, and a breakdown of downtime by reason.
-
Bad production grouped by quality reason, with count and cost.
-
Specified, average and best cycle times by SKU and station.
-
The Weekly Report, production by Station, by WO Ref. and by SKU, and a list of production entries.
-
A record of completed, missed and pending Tasks, with notes.
To connect your own systems to Busroot, such as an ERP or a BI tool, see Developers.
