What happens after implementation?

Busroot is easy to use and we provide training when needed. We also have an excellent customer support team if you require additional help.

Below is where we suggest you start to navigate in Busroot to understand the features and also the information we need from your production process to refine the data signals we receive.

Information needed to setup your Busroot account

  • For Busroot to work properly and track your production in real-time, you will need to enter your products and other information into Busroot. The information we need according to your production is:

  • Products and cycle times – If you have more than 10 products, we can help you enter the information faster by importing them to Busroot.

  • Downtime reasons -

  • Schedules -

  • Operator names:

    • to sign in with your email address

    • Use your email work address and then it will send a login link to your email. When you click on that link you will have access to your Busroot platform.

    • We can send simple templates to complete so you can upload all of your information at once and avoid manual input.

  1. Customer login to account

    1. Use and login using your email address

    2. Once completed OI will make you an Admin in Busroot

    3. Use link to login again and access your account

    4. You can setup further users in the same way, getting them to enter their email address. The level of their access to Busroot in the Admin section of the menu

  2. Set your Plant name and Plant code

    1. These should be easily distinguishable if you have more than one plant

  1. Shift Patterns

    1. Can be set at Station group or Station level to allow for individual operating hours.

    2. To create a shift pattern select Shift Patterns in the main menu and click ‘Add New Shift Pattern’

    3. Enter the pattern title - this will be used to set the pattern for a Station or Station Group

    4. Simply left click on the day and start hour where you want to add a shift.

    5. Slide the white adjusters at each end to precisely change the start or end in 5 minute increments

    6. Create as many sections throughout the day as needed, to account for shift breaks or change overs.

    7. To add a shift that crosses from one day to another, extend the section up to 00:00 on the first day. Then simply start from 00:00 on the next day as required. Busroot will count this as a continuous shift.

      1. Right click on a section to remove it from the chart.

      2. Click Save to add the shift pattern.

      3. Once saved, from the list view, Shift Patterns can be either Edited or Deleted as required

  1. Station Groups and Stations

    1. In Busroot, stations are where any manufacturing occurs and all units of production are related to a station.

    2. For easier management, stations can be grouped by type, function or area. Station groups can be used in reports for searching and filtering.

  1. SKU Management

    1. By entering a default cycle time when saving a new SKU, this can also be edited later.

    2. Busroot can use this to estimate a finish time for work orders. This will allow you to take full advantage of the Production progress chart.

  2. Utilisation Monitoring

    1. Heatmap provides a clear illustration of each station's utilisation across the day or week. Broken down into windows to show exactly what’s happening on the shop floor and where it can be improved.

    2. For stations that are using Downtime Detection Mode > Utilisation Monitoring.

    3. Heatmap windows are 15 mins for Normal Resolution and 5 mins for High Resolution.

    4. These colours represent the Utilisation status of each station in the Heatmap.

      1. Green - Station has Utilisation greater than 0%

      2. Red - Station has Utilisation of 0%

      3. Light Green, Amber and Yellow shades - when set to ‘Normal Resolution - Colour Range’ depending on average Utilisation %

      4. Purple - Station is switched off or Busroot is not receiving any signal

      5. Blue - Station has a Maintenance Schedule

      6. Light Grey - Outside of Shift

      7. Darker Grey - Future Time, when current day or week is selected

    5. A station’s status will only be displayed during shift times.

  3. Production Schedules

    1. Production orders are the fundamental way in which Busroot views activity on the shop-floor.

      1. Stations can be scheduled to produce a specific SKU from a specific time. A schedule can be for a specific quantity, or for a specific duration.

      2. Add maintenance schedules to keep track of planned downtime and build data to understand which areas are costing the most time.

      3. Build a list of reasons for commonly occurring maintenance, using Maintenance Reasons in the main menu. These can be assigned to each schedule.

      4. When adding a reason for areas of maintenance that can be broken down in to more specific areas, a parent reason can be created first by selecting Top-level Reason. Then to add sub reasons, select an existing reason from the dropdown.

      5. For work orders with a fixed quantity, select Quantity in the dropdown and enter the amount below. Busroot will create an estimated end time for the schedule.

      6. For work orders with only a specific end time, select End Time and enter date and time using the date/time selector. Busroot will calculate an estimated quantity to be produced.

  1. Cockpit

    1. All the real time data that you need in one place to monitor production across the whole factory.

    2. See live information from all stations - which work order they are producing and the current progress through the order.

    3. A clear labelling system to alert of any stations that have an issue.

      1. Green - Running, producing units correctly.

      2. Amber - Has an issue, but action is being taken to resolve it.

      3. Red - Issue not yet addressed and/or requires further action.

    4. Live progress of each work order or work order group if made of multiple parts.

    5. All key data needed to keep track of each order's progress.

    6. Actually vs Planned: The current live total against the overall target total.

    7. Stations Running: A quick reading of how many stations are running out of the total scheduled.

  1. Production Monitoring

    1. This is everything related to a schedule. The work order reference, the SKU, the station and the quantity that's being produced.

    2. Daily Chart: This displays the number of SKU's produced on a machine throughout a day.

    3. By Station: This displays by station, the volume of each SKU produced on which work order. This information can be reviewed on a daily, weekly or rolling (monthly) period.

    4. By SKU: This displays by SKU, the volume of each SKU produced only. This information can be reviewed on a daily, weekly or rolling (monthly) period.

    5. Overall:

      1. Either by Station or by SKU (tabs available) this displays what has been produced.

      2. By station: The total quantity produced on each station over a week period.

      3. By SKU: The specific quantity of each SKU produced on each day over a week period.

  1. Downtime causes

    1. Submit a downtime cause from a list of commonly occurring issues
